Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement (CWELCC)

The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system is a federal initiative launched in 2021 to create a universal, affordable child care system across Canada. Under this plan, federal funding is provided to provinces and territories to achieve an average of $10 per day for licensed child care for children aged O to 6 by September 2025. The system also aims to increase the number of affordable child care spaces, improve the quality and training of early childhood educators, and expand access for families, particularly those in underserved communities.On March 28th 2022, Ontario has secured a deal with the federal government on a national child care plan for Ontario families.

We are pleased to inform you that Forum Italia Day Care Center has opted into the CWELCC program. One of the components under the CWELCC program is to reduce parent fees to make childcare more affordable. For 2022, WELCC funding will support up to a 25% fee reduction retroactive to April 1st, 2022.

Parents enrolled in participating programs in 2025 can expect on average daily rate of $22.00 or less per day for all age groups.

The CWELCC system requires the creation of many new policies and procedures therefore, please be patient, as we are working closely to implement the new system as quickly as possible.
