Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement (CWELCC)

On March 28th 2022, Ontario has secured a deal with the federal government on a national child care plan for Ontario families. Families will see financial relief through reduced average parent fees every year, with $10/day average licensed child care fees for children ages 0-6 by September 2025.

We are pleased to inform you that Forum Italia Day Care Center has opted into the CWELCC program. One of the components under the CWELCC program is to reduce parent fees to make childcare more affordable. For 2022, CWELCC funding will support up to a 25% fee reduction retroactive to April 1st, 2022.

Parents enrolled in participating programs can expect a further reduction in 2023, on average reducing fees to a total of 50%. The next reduction will be implemented in September 2024, and the final reduction to $10/day child care, on average, in September 2025.

The CWELCC system requires the creation of many new policies and procedures therefore, please be patient, as we are working closely to implement the new system as quickly as possible.
